Our team

Please spend a couple of minutes to meet the Township Trades team. I am sure you will agree with me that the courage and enthusiasm of our 16 trainees is amazing and the dedication of our managers, Lucian & Bev Russ, and the support from local community leaders such as Vivienne, is remarkable. Thanks to Plus 3 Productions who made this movie, you can experience how Township Trades is making soap and delivering hope in Khayelitsha township! Dear Townshiptrades

My name is Michael Gim, a college student at Kyungsung university in South Korea. My major is journalism and now working on a project about how fair trade in Africa operate and how they are used by people. For this project, four students including me are planning to visit several fair trade organizations including your Townshiptrades
this summer, around August. I am writing to ask you if it is possible for us to have chance to meet some of your staff for a short interview while we are there in Africa . I’m looking forward to hearing from you soon.

Sincerely,

Michael Gim

Hi. My name is Kate, and like Micheal, I’d like to explore TownshipTrades. I’m doing my Masters in Development, focusing on social enterprises and the perspectives of the staff employed by them. If you can please contact me on my email I’d be hugely grateful. If it is not possible for me to use your staff for interviews, I would still love to meet some of the management or visionaries of the business. I am based in Cape Town and excited to hear from you.
Thanks, Kate

Good Day

After having contact with The Love Project I came across your business.

I am busy designing a shopping website called “From the Heart Emporium”. The idea behind this website is to give shoppers a website where they can find highly original, quality and gorgeous lifestyle and gift products directly from the businesses in South Africa that make them.

How it works:

Customers will search through all the products listed on the site (your products) and then drop as many items (from any seller) in the shopping basket as they like. Postage from each seller will be added separately at the shopping basket.

Payment will go through our secure payment gateway and then passed onto the sellers (minus our commission).

We ask that all sellers have fair and reasonable delivery charges.

I want to invite you to become a participating business on this site. I am absolutely certain that this site is going to be a huge success and will market the site very extensively. I am not yet finished with tlook at the idea that I have you can look at www.notonthehighstreet.com. It is a similar site to what I am planning and will give you a feel of what we are working towards.

I am not going to ask any subscription fees, but will take a small percentage of your sales that go through the site.

If you feel like this is something you would like to participate in, please let me know and we can discuss in detail.

Hope to hear from you soon.

Regards
Annelize Du Plooy
